Before you begin applying mortar to install your natural thin stone veneer, you’ll want to plan your layout.
To do this, wash your stone with clean water and then lay each piece out on a flat surface. You can blend shapes and colors together for a more random, natural-looking layout.
Depending on the size of your project, you can lay the entire display out at once. Otherwise take it one section at a time
If you need to trim any of the veneer, use a wet saw, angle grinder, or circular saw with a masonry blade.
When you’re happy with your layout, you’re ready to mix your mortar and start installing your stone. We’ll be looking at that in the next video.
